Another very useful function in the VM is able to share folders on the host system (which is actually installed on the physical computer) to access within a virtual machine.

To make this configuration is very simple:

  • With the VM powered off, select it and click on "VM / Settings" (CTRL + D for lovers of shortcuts).
  • Choose the tab "Options";
  • Click "Shered Folders", and the right side clear the checkbox "Disable Shared Folders";
  • Now click on "ADD". A name for the share and 'Host folder' select the folder you want to share.
  • To finish let the "Enable this share" enabled.

Pronto! ja is working!

Now when the VM, you can access your share in "\ \. Host. See pictures below:

A very useful feature in VMware is the ability to create snapshots. Snapshots are system restore points. These restore points are used for example when you want to do any installation or configuration in the virtual machine and do not know if it will work. You create a snapshot before upgrading and updating the event of any problems you can restore the system to have it run just like the time when the Snaphot was created.

To create a Snapshot is very easy! With the virtual machine on, click the menu "VM / Snaphot / Take Snapshot". Set a name and description. As the image below:

snaphost name description VMware   Snapshot

snaphost saving VMware   Snapshot

Today I will talk about this very interesting program, VMware.

VMare is software that allows the installation of one (or more) operating system within an operating system. Was it complicated? See the picture below to understand:

Linux rodando um Windows XP

Note that the image, the person uses a Linux but a Windows XP is running VMware. And it can be done the other way too: You run a Linux distribution into your Windows.

Or rather, you work with any system that runs on multiple platforms and need to test all of them ... VMware will be very useful, since you do not need to partition your HD to be able to install each operating system.
